All the cool kids know where to go to take a break from the Florida heat in Epcot…
As a fan of all things Coca-Cola, you cannot imagine my surprise and delight to discover the hidden gem called Club Cool, at WDW’s Epcot. Since the extensive renovations that have been done to the front of the park, this hideaway of fizzy refreshment is located next to Creations Shop and across the breezeway from Connections Café and is the perfect place to dip into for a refreshing taste of sodas from around the world.
When you first step into the store, you are greeted with delightful Coca-Cola brand merchandise, from sweatshirts to luggage tags to adorable fluffy white polar bears. But the real appeal for a soda connoisseur is the multiple fountains along the wall to the right.
As you wait in line for the people in front of you to drink their fill, the anticipation of tasting your favorite product from another country builds and builds. Finally, it’s your turn and you step to the fountain and take one of the tiny cups—it’s actually the perfect size for American girl doll if you can believe it.
So many choices, how to decide? As I scan the offerings, I decide to start on the far right. Countries represented are China, the Philippines, Korea, Madagascar, Dominican Republic, and Italy to name a few. Most of these are not soda as we know it here in the states. Some are fruity and flat, others are fizzy and bright, but they are all refreshing and all worth a taste.
Over the years I haven’t seen too many changes in offerings but the one constant here is Beverly, a clear, bitter fizzy palate cleanser from Italy. I will never forget introducing our son-in-law to Beverly. He knew something was up when we all had our cameras trained on him, but he was a good sport and gave it a try. I doubt that he will fall for that trick a second time…
Leaving the fountains and turning our attention back to the store, there is a counter service option for a variety of Coca-Cola products. I’ve never purchased anything from here, but I know they have a variety of specialized offerings.
Give yourself a treat, and pop into Club Cool. You won’t be disappointed!
